Pilgrim United Church

The Pilgrim United Church School is a vital part of our community of faith.  We all need each other, children, youth and adults, as we discover how to to live as God would have us live.

You will hear our congregation affirm this belief every Sunday as the children and youth leave for Church School.

Children aren't viewed as adults-in-waiting, nor are they on display for the amusement of the adults.  They're full and welcome participants at the heart of our congregation, bringing ideas and unique talents that can inspire the entire church.

Your children and youth are welcome to participate in our Church School activities or stay with you in the Sanctuary until they have a chance to get to know the Church School leaders and other children.  Visitors with young children are introduced to Church School leaders before service and asked if they'd like a quick visit to the different locations for Church School.  Families meet up again during coffee time after service.

The youngest children (under 6y) take part in a nursery program with a bible story, craft and play time.  These group meets in a portable on our property that is used by a day care centre during the week.

Children from 6y to 11y participate in our Godly Play program from September to June.  These children will meet in our Sacred Space that was designed for the Church School.

Youth (12y +) have their own time and space where they can discuss issues of faith and how it fits in their daily life.

All three groups believe in having fun while we learn more about our faith.

In the summer, your children will enjoy a multi-age program based on the Seasons of the Spirit Curriculum. There will be crafts, games and faith explorations.
